LOCATION:

The Bell 47, 205A-1, and 214B training seminars are held in the Department of Aviation Technologies, the Joseph A. Schafer Helicopter Lab Facility, located at Southern Illinois Airport between Carbondale and Murphysboro. The main university campus is located in Carbondale approximately five miles southeast of Southern Illinois Airport. We may be contacted at:

AIRLINE INFORMATION (partial list only):

The closest major airport is the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, St. Louis, Missouri, approximately 2 to 2 ½ hours by car from Carbondale.

The Marion Williamson County Regional Airport (MWA) is located just 12 miles east of Carbondale. At times commuter flights are operated into Marion from the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and also from Chicago Midway. Since service in and out of Marion changes from time to time, check with the airlines for the current status of flights.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION (partial list only):

BART Shuttle runs a luxury van service between the Lambert-St. Louis International Airport and the Carbondale area 365 days a year, on an as-needed basis. Their Carbondale base is located at the Ramada Limited but they will also drop off and pick up from other hotels in the area for a small additional fee.
